Kolkata, Oct 29 (IBNS): With the Indian Super League (ISL) fever gripping India, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday said he feels 'sad' that he could not buy the team from Kolkata.

" I wanted to buy a football team. But if I can't get the team from Kolkata then I will not buy any other team," Khan said during a press conference here.

"My love is for Kolkata. If you play football then you have to play for the city," he further said.

"I hope to see Atletico de Kolkata performing well in the tournament," he said.

Atletico de Kolkata is co-owned by former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly.

Khan, who was in the city to promote his latest released film "Happy New Year", is the owner of Indian Premier League side Kolkata Knight Riders.
