Tokyo Olympics: India's PV Sindhu defeated in high-voltage semi-final clash, to fight for bronze tomorrow

Tokyo: India's hope to clinch a gold medal received a jolt as PV Sindhu lost her semi-final clash against world number one Tai Tzu Ying in the women's singles event here on Saturday.

The world number one Chinese Taipei player defeated the Indian star  18-21, 12-21.

Sindhu will now play for a bronze medal on Sunday.

She will face China's He Bing Jiao in the next round.

She had clinched the silver medal in the Rio Olympics in 2016.
