Second T20I: India win match by 27 runs, go up 2-0 in the series

Chasing 185, Australia started off strongly posting 95 runs for the opening partnership but it soon turned a one way traffic after Shaun Marsh's departure and they ended with 157 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Marsh scored 23 off similar balls before stepping out to Ashwin and holding out in the deep.

His partner, Aaron Finch though scored freely but was run out eventually.

Finch hit 2 sixes and 8 fours for his 48 ball 74.

The others just couldn't get going as the Indian bowlers kept on picking wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah was hit for runs but came back strongly to pick up 2 wickets in the last overs.

Ravindra Jadeja too picked up 2 wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya and Yuvraj Singh picked up a wicket each.

Batting first, India posted a decent 184 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

After Australian captain Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to field first, the Indian openers had a quiet start but it all changed in the 3rd over of the match as Rohit Sharma carted John Hastings for a four and Shikhar Dhawan bludgeoned him for a massive six.

The Indian openers added 97 runs for the opening wickets before Dhawan departed for a well made 42 off 32 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Sharma however struck to the crease and completed a 37 ball 50 but was eventually run-out for 60 runs 10 balls later. His innings comprised of 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Indian's in-form man, Virat Kohli too toyed with the Aussie attack as he made a 29 ball 50.

Kohli remained unbeaten at 59 off 33 balls and hit 7 boundaries and 1 six.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a brief cameo of 14 runs off 8 balls and hit 2 boundaries before getting out in the last over.

For Australia, Glenn Maxwell and Jason Tye picked up a wicket each.

Tye and 2 other Australians, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon made their debut today.     

Virat Kohli was adjudged the man of the match for his contribution with the bat.
