Gros Islet, St Lucia, Aug 10 (IBNS): A contrasting picture prevailed in the opening session on day two of the third Test match between India and West Indies as the visitors added 80 runs to their overnight score without any casualty, here on Wednesday.

At lunch on day two, the Indian batsmen have put up 316 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Ashwin (99*) and Saha (93*) continued their impressive run and have put up a record unbeaten 190-run partnership for the sixth.

They broke the previous best score, set up by Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri in 1983.

India looked down and out at 126 for the loss of five wickets at tea on the opening day, when Saha walked with.

He looked the more dominant partner between the two, playing brisk drives and lofted shots for boundaries.

Ashwin too looked his assured self, milking the bowling for singles.

Both the batsmen are set to reach the three-figure mark, Ashwin his fourth and Saha's maiden hundred.
