President, Prime Minister congratulate Leander Paes and Martina Hingis for US Open victory

New Delhi, Sept 12 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have congratulated Leander Paes and Martina Hingis, on winning the mixed doubles title at US Open .

"Well done @Leander @mhingis, hearty congratulations on winning the U.S Open mixed doubles," President Mukherjee said in the official Twitter account of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

In a message, the Prime Minister said: ""Well played again, Leander Paes and Martina Hingis. Congrats on a great win. We are all very delighted". 

42-year-old Paes has won nine Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, surpassing compatriot and former partner Mahesh Bhupathi's record of eight titles. He is now behind only legendary Martina Navratilova, who has won 10 mixed doubles trophies.
