MS Dhoni's heroic knock helps India beat SA by 22 runs

Indore, Oct 14 (IBNS): Skipper MS Dhoni returned to form in style as he smashed a heroic unbeaten 92 and played a crucial role in helping India to beat South Africa by 22 runs in the ODI series here on Wednesday.

Posting 247 for nine on the scoreboard, Indian bowlers performed well to bowl out thew opponents for 225 runs in 43.4 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Axar Patel bowled brilliantly as they shared three wickets each while Harbhajan Singh took two wickets to destroy the South African batting lineup.

Faf du Plessis remained the top scorer for the visiting side, which suffered their first defeat in the tour so far, with his 51 runs.
He hit six boundaries in his knock.

Dhoni remained active behind the wickets too as he took three catches and a stumpings in the match after silencing his critics with his willow.

Earlier, Dhoni played a memorable knock of his career where he recovered the side from 124 for six to a competitive total.

Dhoni smashed seven boundaries and four sixes in his 86-ball knock.

He added 56 runs in the eights wicket partnership with Harbhajan Singh (22).

Renaming unbeaten till the end, Dhoni helped his side post 247 runs on the scoreboard.

India leveled the series 1-1 with the win.
