Kuldeep, Bumrah steer India against England despite Ben Duckett's heroics

Rajkot/IBNS: Despite Ben Duckett's mammoth century, India's Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah brought the home team back in the contest picking three wickets of England in the first session on day 3 of the third Test in Rajkot on Saturday.

Joe Root was the first man to be dismissed in the morning.

Yashasvi Jaiswal picked Root in the slip off Kuldeep's delivery sending Root back to the hut scoring only 18.

Jonny Bairstow soon followed Root being dismissed leg before wicket by Bumrah, who has the best economy rate for India so far.

Duckett, who scored the bulk of the English runs, continued with his fiery batting but again Kuldeep came into play by removing him for 153 off 151 balls on a day India lost Ashwin as he headed back home for a family emergency.

With skipper Ben Stokes set at 39 with wicketkeeper-batter Ben Foakes on the other end, England walked into the dressing room for lunch scoring 290/5 in reply to India's 445 in the first innings.
