Bhubaneswar, July 16 (UNI): Founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) A. Samant today declared the international-standard athletics track in KIIT & KISS would be named after sprinter Dutee Chand.

The 'Dutee Chand Athletics Track' would be inaugurated soon, Samanta said while felicitating Dutee for winning a gold medal in the 100-meter race at 30th Summer Universiade 2019 in Napoli, Italy.

Dutee will also lead KIIT Athletics Academy, which will be established in the future.

These will be the best gift from KIIT & KISS to Dutee, he said.

Samanta said Dutee was the pride of the nation.

Dutee is the first ever Indian woman to bag gold medal in 100-meter race in a world athletics meet. She clocked 11.32 seconds to achieve this.
