Abu Dhabi/UNI: A brilliant fifty by Suryakumar Yadav and a sensational bowling spell by Jasprit Bumrah helped the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by five wickets in the 48th match of the IPL 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium here on Wednesday.

Batting first, RCB posted 164/6 in 20 overs. Devdutt Padikkal was top scorer for RCB with 74 off 45, followed by Josh Philippe who scored 33 off 24.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah (3/14) was sensational with the ball.

In reply, Yadav played a superb knock of 79 not out off 43 balls as MI gunned down a 165-run target with five balls to spare.

With this win, MI became the first team to get to 16 points as the race for the top four spot became more interesting.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli's RCB stay at the 2nd spot with 14 points but their hopes of finishing in the top 2 have taken a hit.
