IPL: MI beat Rajasthan by 25 runs

Ahmedabad, May 19 (IBNS): Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals by 25 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Monday.

Posting 178 for three on the scoreboard, Mumbai bowlers then restricted Rajasthan to 153 for eight.

Karun Nair  remained the top scorer for Rajasthan with his 48.

Brad Hodge  (40) and James Faulkner (31) were the other two batsmen to make some contribution with their willows while the rest could not even touch the double digit figure.

Nair hit four boundaries and three sixes in his 24-ball knock.

Krishmar Santokie, Pragyan Ojha, Harbhajan Singh and Shreyas Gopal took two wickets each for Mumbai.

Earlier, Mumbai posted 178 for three on the scorecard with Lendl Simmons top scoring with his 62.

Simmons and Mike Hussey gave Mumbai a strong start as they added 120 runs in the first wicket partnership.

Rohit Sharma later smashed 19-ball 40, which included three boundaries and four sixes, to help his side reach a competitive total.

Ankit Sharma picked up two wickets for Rajasthan.
