Ahmedabad/IBNS: Gujarat Titans clinched a 35-run victory over Chennai Super Kings in a crucial match of the last leg of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 here on Friday.

Batting first, GT slammed a massive 231/3 in 20 overs, thanks to centuries from skipper Shubman Gill (104 from 55 balls) and Sai Sudarshan (103 from 51 balls).

It took 17.2 overs for Chennai to take the first wicket as the opening duo slammed 210 together.

Chasing the target, CSK, who lost out in the run chase quite early, stopped at 196/8 in 20 overs.

Daryl Mitchell (63 from 34 balls) and Moeen Ali (56 from 36 balls) were the top scorers for CSK.

Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's late cameo of unbeaten 26 from 11 balls was too late to pull off a victory.

Despite the defeat, Dhoni's CSK remained in the top four of points table. They still remain in the fourth spot with 12 points in 12 matches.
