ICC Cricket World Cup trophy arrives in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jan 2 (IBNS): As the cricketing world gears up to witness the 50 - over World Cup from next month, the trophy arrived in Kolkata on Friday.

Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwari, former Indian women's cricket team captain Jhulan Goswami and former Indian test cricketer Devang Gandhi were present at a shopping mall in the city where the Cup was unveiled in the city.

The global sponsor of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, LG arranged a programme to begin the ICC World Cup trophy tour and signature campaign.

LG has also showcased a 30-foot long cricket bat where cricket fans could wish their cricketers.

The Regional Manager of  LG Ranjit Kumar told that the trophy alongside the 'jumbo-bat' will be taken to 5 cities in India - Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon.

The ICC World Cup 2015 tournament will begin on Feb 14 and will end on Mar 29. It will be staged in Australia and New Zealand this year.
