I was personally very disappointed: Kohli

Kolkata, Apr 10 (IBNS): Indian Test team skipper Virat Kohli has broke his silence over the recent criticisms he faced over his performance during the World Cup semi-final clash against Australia and said he was 'personally disappointed' by the remarks.

"I was personally very disappointed," Kohli said during a promotional event here.

He said he has performed consistently for India in the past five years and helped the country in winning matches.

"Seeing such reactions for a match was disappointing," Kohli said.

"What it does is it makes you lose faith in a lot of people. It is a good thing in a way that you get to know who is with you and who is not. It was indeed a very difficult, well, not difficult because it's not in my control. But the reactions were very disappointing," he said.

He slammed the critics and said they should be 'ashamed' for going personal.

As India crushed out of the World Cup after Australia defeated the current World Champions by 95 runs in the semi-final of the tournament here on Thursday, dejected fans took to the social media platform and expressed their anguish.
While there were some support for the team, there were huge criticisms for the players especially Indian Vice Captain Virat Kohli.

Kohli's girlfriend and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma for his poor performance.

She was bullied on social media for her presence in the Sydney stadium during the match in which Kohli managed to get just one run after struggling for 13 balls.

Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be facing KKR in an IPL match here on Saturday
