Gujarat beat Kings by 5 wickets

Mohali, Apr 11 (IBNS): Gujarat Lions started their IPL campaign with a victory against hosts Kings XI Punjab by five wickets here on Monday.

Chasing Kings XI Punjab's 161 for six, Lions reached 162 runs by losing five wickets with 14 balls to spare.

Australian Aaron Finch guided the Gujarat Lions towards victory with his crucial knock of 74 runs and specially after former New Zealand skipper and opener

Brendon McCullum got out without contributing a single run with his willow.

Finch hit 12 boundaries in his 47-ball knock.

Dinesh Karthik (41) and Suresh Raina (20) made important contributions with their willows.

Sandeep Sharma, Mitchell Johnson, Marcus Stoinis and Pardeep Sahu took a sngle wicket each.

Earlier, Kings scored 161 runs in their innings.

Murali Vijay top scored with his 42.

West Indian bowler Dwayne Bravo picked up four wickets for Gujarat Lions.
