Dave hopes India will soon see reason in DRS
Speaking at the ceremonial signing of a four-year deal with Chinese smartphone major Oppo here, David said: "ICC has continuously tried to make an effort to make cricket evolve and be relevant. Accepting DRS is part of the process. We hope that India will soon accept it."
A debate as important as the implementation of the DRS has now come to a stalemate of India v the world.
The BCCI's my-way-or-the-highway approach and the shrill response from some of the other countries threatens to stand in the way of a reasonable discussion about the genuine issues regarding the DRS in its current form. Recently, Indian skipper M S Dhoni has gone on record stating that that he was not convinced with the DRS in its current state.
While refusing to talk about the controversy raging in Australia regarding the spider cam, he said: "Yes, the spider cam will be on during the T20 World Cup. But certain guidelines are being laid down and will be followed."
The spidercam was held villain for captain Steven Smith dropping a catch. The spidercam is suspended on a network of wires above the field, enabling broadcasters to show a bird's eye view of the action.
