Mumbai, Jun 23 (IBNS): The BCCI appointed committee is set to hand over the name of India cricket team's next head coach to the board on the morning of June 24, Friday.

After a brief meeting on Thursday, the committee decided to go through the finer details once more before submitting the name to the board.

Former skippers Anil Kumble and Ravi Shastri are in contention for the role of the coach.

Though Kumble holds the edge, the fate of the candidate will be decided after the submission of the name.

Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, all former players, are shouldering responsibilities for selection
