Kolkata, June 12 (IBNS): Taking a step towards building their team for the upcoming second edition of the Indian Super League, title holders of the inaugural edition Atletico de Kolkata, on Friday announced that the team has retained José Miguel González Rey better known as Josemi and Ofentse Nato from their previous line-up of foreign players for the forthcoming season.

Both Nato and Josemi the heroes of the last edition will again don the red and white jerseys for Kolkata’s very own team.

After the announcement of signing striker Iain Edward Hume for this season the team has now decided to keep two of their most consistent foreign recruits to add to the finesse on the pitch.

“Atlético de Kolkata is consistently making some sensible choices to build the team for 2015. The motive is to build a favourable and experienced bench strength which will be an asset over the taxing three month long tournament,” Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman RP- Sanjiv Goenka Group, Co-owner, Atlético de Kolkata

“Josemi and Nato’s performances last year have been game changers for us on numerous occasions. It is but a natural process that they have been retained as consistency along with experience are the most important factors for any player on the field," Utsav Parekh, Co-owner, Atlético de Kolkata, Chairman, SMIFS Capital Markets Ltd.

“We have retained Josemi and Nato basis their performance in the last season which helped us immensely in the defence and midfield and I feel they will continue to prove their determination to perform in the next season as well. Their contributions will be essential without any doubt,"  Antonio Lopez Habas, Head Coach, Atlético de Kolkata
