Asian Games: Tomar bags bronze

Indian shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar edged over compatriot Rudrankksh Patil to win the men's 10m air rifle bronze medal at the Asian Games 2023.

The 21-year-old Aishwary scored 228.8 points on his way to finishing third. Rudrankksh, meanwhile, finished fourth with 208.7 points after the shoot-off.

China's Sheng Lihao broke the Asian, Asian Games and World records with a score of 253.3 while clinching the gold medal at the men's 10m air rifle final at Hangzhou 2023. Republic of Korea's Hajun Park claimed the silver medal.

Meanwhile, Indian shooters Adarsh Singh, Anish and Vijayveer Sidhu scored 1718 points in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol team final to bag the bronze medal at the Asian Games 2023.

It took India's medal tally to 10 at Hangzhou.

China won the gold medal with 1765 points while the Republic of Korea claimed the silver medal with 1734 points.

Vijayveer Sidhu, meanwhile, qualified for the men's 25m rapid fire pistol individual final after finishing sixth.

India was declared the bronze-winning team despite Indonesia having an identical score. India had a greater number of inner-10s than Indonesia on the scoresheet.

India had 45 ‘x’s, while fourth-placed Indonesia could only get 37 ‘x’s.
