Asia Cup: India restrict UAE for 81 runs

Mirpur, Mar 3 (IBNS) Winning the coin toss and electing to bat first, UAE were restricted for 81 runs for the loss of 9 wickets by India, here on Thursday.

The Indian bowlers bowled immaculate lengths up front as both the opening bowlers picked up wickets in their second over to leave UAE at 2 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar who made a comeback into the side in place of Ashish Nehera bowled two maiden overs on the trot.

UAE had a small partnership of 23 runs for the third wicket and another 26 runs for the ensuing wicket between Shaiman Anwar and Muhammad Usman (9).

Anwar was the highest score for his side with 43 runs off 48 balls. he hit 3 boundaries

Debutant Pawan Negi picked up a wicket while giving away 16 runs in his three overs. He was also instrumental in affecting a run out.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the Indian bowlers, picking up 2 wickets for 8 runs.
