Radha Bangsia, a talented Taekwondo player from Arunachal Pradesh, has been chosen to represent India at the prestigious Asian Games scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, in September this year.

The selection came after Radha Bangsia secured the first position during the selection trials conducted by the Taekwondo Federation of India at the Sports Authority of Gujarat's sports complex in Nadiad, from June 16 to 18, reported EastMojo.

This outstanding feat has garnered praise and congratulations from Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Expressing his delight, Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to Twitter to extend his congratulations to Radha Bangsia. He wrote, "Happy & proud moment that Ms. Radha Bangsia from Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy, #ArunachalPradesh got selected at the Asia Games Selection Trials held in Gujarat. She will represent India at the 19th Asian Games to be held in China."

The Chief Minister also commended the Arunachal Taekwondo Association and the Arunachal Olympic Association for their efforts in nurturing talented athletes.

During the selection trials, Rikpy Nyodu from Arunachal Pradesh also showcased remarkable skills, securing the third position. Nyodu has been placed on standby in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.

It is worth noting that a total of seven athletes from Arunachal Pradesh participated in the rigorous selection process.

Looking ahead, the selected athletes, including Radha Bangsia, will undergo a rigorous 30-day foreign training program. This training will be sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as the Sports Authority of India (SAI).

The aim of this intensive training is to further enhance the skills and capabilities of the athletes, ensuring they are well-prepared to compete at the Asian Games.

The selection of Radha Bangsia and the recognition received by Rikpy Nyodu highlight the immense potential and talent that exists within the state of Arunachal Pradesh. These athletes serve as an inspiration to aspiring Taekwondo players and reflect the growing prominence of the sport in the region.

With Radha Bangsia's selection, India looks forward to an impressive performance at the 19th Asian Games, as she competes against some of the finest Taekwondo athletes from across the continent.

The nation eagerly awaits the sporting extravaganza in Hangzhou, China, where athletes like Radha Bangsia will strive to make their mark on the international stage.
