Kolkata/IBNS: Love stories often begin when life refuses to follow a script. Reflecting that spirit, ZEE5 Original Bengali web series Prem Shots hosted a singles mixer in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Celebrating its successful streaming run following its July 24 premiere the event brought audiences closer to the relationships at the heart of the story.

At the centre of Prem Shots is Sylva, played by Angana Roy, a runaway bride whose unexpected journey brings her face to face with Ayush, portrayed by Bonny Sengupta, an ambitious entrepreneur who values his independence and keeps romantic commitments at arm's length.

Reflecting on the response to the series, Bonny Sengupta said, the response is "positive." People are already asking for the next part of the series and have been complimenting our on-screen chemistry."

As their paths continue to cross, Sylva and Ayush gradually realise that despite their contrasting personalities, they share a common desire for freedom and self-determination.

Their unexpected bond slowly evolves into something deeper, leaving them to decide whether they are merely running away from their pasts or building a relationship worth holding on to.

Speaking about the audience response, Angana Roy said, "Gen Z audiences have really enjoyed the web series."

A story like this is rarely seen in the Bengali industry. I think this is the first time we've explored this kind of narrative, and many young viewers have told us they planned to binge-watch it."

Set against the backdrop of contemporary Kolkata, Prem Shots explores love, ambition and emotional discovery through the lives of two individuals learning to navigate life on their own terms.

"There have been so many messages appreciating the love story, and we're hoping to receive even more positive responses in the coming days," Roy added.

Featuring Bonny Sengupta and Angana Roy in the lead roles, the Bengali romantic drama blends humour, vulnerability and modern relationships in a story that asks whether love is something people find, or something they choose to embrace.
