Mumbai, Jan 21 (IBNS): Actor Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri has crossed Rs. 100 crore at the Indian box office.

The film was released on Jan 11.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "And #Uri crosses ₹ cr... Sure, ₹ cr is *not* the yardstick to gauge the success of a film, but it should be celebrated when mid-sized films like #SKTKS, #Raazi, #Stree, #BadhaaiHo and #UriTheSurgicalStrike hit century... Content is king and the audiences are king makers!"

The movie is based on the surgical strike conducted by Indian Army on Sept 29, 2016.

The events goes back to Sept 18, 2016, when 19 soldiers were killed in an early morning attack by Pakistani terrorists.

The attack was carried out at the 12 Infantry Brigade headquarters in Uri.

On Sept 29, Indian Army's Special Forces conducted “surgical strikes” on terror launch pads across Line of Control (LoC), winning appreciations from countrymen.

Apart from Vicky, Uri stars Paresh Rawal and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.
