Mumbai: Actor Varun Dhawan is set to portray war hero second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal in filmmaker Sriram Raghavan's next film.

The biopic on Khetarpal, which is yet to be titled, will be produced by Dinesh Vijan.

Varun's earlier film Badlapur was also directed and produced by Raghavan and Vijan respectively.

Khetarpal, the recipient of India's highest military honour for valour, died at the age of 21 during the India-Pakistan war in 1971.

He was killed in the Battle of Basantar in the Shakargarh sector.
