TIFF ’26 announces In Conversation series featuring Lee Min-ho, Chris Rock, Andrew Scott

The festival said the annual series will expand the TIFF experience beyond film screenings through intimate onstage conversations with artists in front of live audiences.

“This year’s In Conversation With… series brings together trailblazers and extraordinary storytellers for conversations that will offer audiences a deeper look at their craft and careers,” said Anita Lee, TIFF’s chief programming officer.

Lee Min-ho, who will be at TIFF ’26 for the world premiere of his new film The Assassin(s), will discuss his nearly two-decade career and his role in the global rise of Korean popular culture.

His notable credits include Boys Over Flowers, The Heirs, City Hunter, Gangnam Blues, The Legend of the Blue Sea, The King: Eternal Monarch and Apple TV+’s Pachinko.

Academy Award-nominated cinematographer and filmmaker Rachel Morrison will return to TIFF for the world premiere of her sophomore feature Love of Your Life, starring Margaret Qualley, Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Basso and Catherine Keener.

Morrison, the first woman nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography, is known for her work on Fruitvale Station, Mudbound and Black Panther, as well as her directorial debut, The Fire Inside, which premiered at TIFF in 2024.

Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian, actor, writer, director and producer Chris Rock will join the series while presenting the world premiere of Misty Green.

The conversation will cover his career in stand-up comedy, film and television, including his work on Saturday Night Live, Bring the Pain, Good Hair and Top Five.

Fleabag's 'hot priest' Andrew Scott will also take part in the series while attending TIFF with Elsinore, in which he plays actor Ian Charleson.

Scott is also known for performances in Sherlock, All of Us Strangers and Netflix’s Ripley. The conversation will explore his career and his latest performance in the film, which he also produced.

The festival will also feature a “Making Waves With…” conversation with Hudson Williams as part of TIFF Next Wave initiatives focused on creators and audiences under 25.

Williams, who stars in the series YAGA and gained international recognition for his role as Shane Hollander in Heated Rivalry, will discuss his career, creative influences and early work in independent filmmaking. He will also discuss his upcoming feature Apparatus.

TIFF said tickets for the “In Conversation With…” programme will go on sale to TIFF members according to membership level beginning August 21, while single tickets will be available to the public from August 31.

The Toronto International Film Festival will take place from September 10 to 20, 2026.
