FIR lodged against Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty allegedly for using derogatory word related to scheduled castes

Mumbai, Dec 23 (IBNS): An FIR was lodged against Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty Kundra at Mumbai's Andheri police station on Saturday allegedly for using the word 'bhangi' as a ridicule during a public show, according to media reports.

The complaint has been lodged by Navin Ramchandra Lade, general secretary of Rojgar Aghari Republican Part of India.

Lade, a member of the scheduled caste, said in his complaint that by using the word 'bhangi' in the television show, the actors have insulted the sentiment of the scheduled castes, media reported.

The media quoted Lade as saying, "I felt insulted and humiliated being a member of Scheduled Caste myself. I feel very pained and hurt due to the insulting statement made by Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty."
