Prime Minister Modi and others pay respect to martyr Bhagat Singh on birth anniversary

New Delhi, Sep 28 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respect to Shaheed (Martyr) Bhagat Singh, on his 110th birth anniversary, on Thursday.

“I bow to the brave Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his Jayanti. His greatness and exemplary courage inspires generations of Indians”, the Prime Minister said.

Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh was executed in 1931 at the age of 23 years.

Many others also paid their respect to Bhagat Singh.

Tweeted Smriti Z Irani, Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles and Information & Broadcasting,  "On his Jayanti, my homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh who embraced martyrdom for our freedom. His sacrifice remains etched in our memories."

"He was free even in jail.He was loud even while keeping quiet.He'd be happiest in pain.He lives even after death.Salutes to Bhagat Singh ji" tweeted Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, "Tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary. His passionate service & supreme sacrifice for our Motherland inspire us all."
