Maharashtra: House collapses in Nagpur, 1 killed, 4 injured

Nagpur/UNI: One person was killed and four others sustained serious injuries when an old building comprising a ground-plus-one storied house collapsed in Nagpur district of Maharashtra on Monday morning, police said.

According to police, the incident took place at around 0445 hrs when the 50-year-old house, which was said to be dilapidated in Azad Chowk in Sadar area, collapsed.

Following the incident, the rescue team rushed to the spot.

Five people were pulled out from the debris and rushed to hospital where a 43-year-old man, Kishore Teksultan among them was declared brought dead, police said.

While the injured, identified as Prabha Teksultan (55), Laxmi Teksultan (65), Lokesh Teksultan (22), Rakesh Sirohiya (32), survived the incident and they were undergoing treatment in a hospital, police added.
