Thiruvantapuram, Jan 21 (IBNS) Mohammad Nisham, a multi-millionaire businessman who is known as the "bidee king" Kerala, has been given life term for the murder of Chandrabose, the security guard of his posh residential society whom he ran over with his Hummer in a fit of rage, reports said.

He has also been fined Rs. 71 lakh.

Nisham had been convicted by a court on Wednesday. He had pleaded "bipolar disorder" for a lenient sentence.

Nisham was arrested in January last year for running over the guard at the gated neighbourhood in Thrissur.

On Wednesday, the court was told that he rammed his SUV into 51-year-old Chandrabose after the man was late in opening the gates. Then he pinned him to a wall, dragged him for 700 metres, stomped on him and then shouted "this dog will not die". Nisha was reportedly in a drunken state.

Nisham's business empire also includes hotels and real estate.
