Jammu and Kashmir: Drug peddler arrested,charas recovered in Pulwama

Srinagar/UNI:  Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug peddler and recovered charas in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, a police spokesman said on Sunday evening.

He said at a checking point established at Beighpora crossing Awantipora in Pulwama , a police party intercepted a pedestrian identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Renzipora.

During his checking police recovered five kg of charas from him, spokesman said adding he was arrested.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. People found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace, he said.
