Indian-American executive Vivek Taneja, who was assaulted in Washington DC, dies

An Indian-American man, who was injured while fighting outside a restaurant in Washington DC, has died, media reports said.

The deceased executive was identified as Vivek Taneja from Virginia.

According to investigators, officers responded to the 1100 block of 15th Street Northwest outside Shoto Restaurant around 2 a.m. for an assault on Feb. 2. Once officers arrived, they found Taneja on the pavement, reported WUSA9.

He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to reports, a preliminary probe found Taneja and an unknown man were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical.

Police are searching for the man who threw a deadly punch on the person.

The man was caught on surveillance camera.
