Congrats, says Indian PM Modi to Suu Kyi on poll win

New Delhi/UNI:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her party the National League for Democracy on winning the general election in Myanmar.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi said he looked forward to working with them to strengthen relations between the two countries.

"Congratulations to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi & NLD for her victory in the elections. The successful conduct of polls is another step in the ongoing democratic transition in Myanmar. I look forward to continuing to work with you to strengthen our traditional bonds of friendship,” Modi said in the tweet. The National League for Democracy, captured 397 parliamentary seats out of 476, according to official results released on Wednesday.
