Bali, Nov 4 (IBNS) Underworld don Chhota Rajan's deportation to India is set to be deferred by few more days as the Bali airport has been closed for an indefinite period because of volcanic eruption, reports said on Wednesday.

Rajan was supposed to be brought back in an evening flight on Tuesday but the flight was cancelled due to the fly ash which erupted near the Lombard island in Indonesia.

55-year-old Rajan, whose real name is Rajendra Sadashiv Nikaljie continued to be in detention in Denpasar.

The gangster has long been wanted in India in connection with many cases. He was arrested in Bali following a tip off from Australian authorities. An Indian Police team, which arrived in Bali on Sunday, has completed all formalities for taking custody of Rajan and flying him to India.

Rajan is wanted in over 75 crimes, including urder, extortion to smuggling and drug trafficking.
