New Delhi: The 8th round of India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting was held in Chushul region on Nov 6, officials said.

"The two sides had a candid, in-depth and constructive exchange of views on disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in the Western Sector of India-China border areas," read a statement issued by the Indian government.

Both sides agreed to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, ensure their frontline troops to exercise restraint and avoid misunderstanding and miscalculation.

Both sides agreed to maintain dialogue and communication through military and diplomatic channels, and, taking forward the discussions at this meeting, push for the settlement of other outstanding issues, so as to jointly maintain peace and tranquillity in the border areas, read the statement.

They also agreed to have another round of meeting soon.

The meeting was held months after Indian and Chinese officials were engaged in a border clash.

India and China have been engaged into border standoff along the LAC in eastern Ladakh since early May.

It has even led to a violent clash between troops of the two countries in the Galwan valley on June 15, wherein 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

The Chinese side also suffered massive casualties but they have yet not disclosed the figure.
