Instagram’s new feature will save you from embarrassing typos

Widely used social media platform Instagram has introduced a long-awaited feature allowing users to edit their comments after posting.

The platform announced on Thursday that users can now modify comments within a limited time window, addressing a common issue where users previously had to delete and repost comments to correct errors, according to TechCrunch.

Users will have 15 minutes after posting a comment to make changes and can edit it multiple times during this period. Once edited, a label will indicate that the comment has been modified, although the original version will not be visible to others.

However, the edit feature applies only to the text portion of comments, and users will not be able to alter any attached images.

Confirming the update, Instagram said on its official X handle: “Editing Instagram comments is here — now you can make changes within 15 minutes of posting.”
