Violence-hit school reopened in Peshawar, students return to classrooms

Peshawar, Jan 12 (IBNS): Attired in green school blazers, Pakistani children on Monday returned to the violence-hit school where Taliban gunmen had killed 150 of their classmates and teachers during a terrorist attack in Peshawar, media reports said.

The violence carried out by seven Taliban militants has put a spotlight on whether the country can end the stubborn insurgency that kills thousands every year.

Sources said the violence also horrified parents across the nation and prompted officials to implement tighter security at schools premises.

According to reports, a ceremony is expected to be held at the school amid tight security blanket. But classes are not expected to be held until later this week.
