Mashhad/IBNS: Passengers screamed as their belongings fell from the overhead compartments after a Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 began vibrating heavily due to a technical problem shortly after taking off from Mashhad in northeastern Iran, media reports said.

The Kermanshah-bound flight was forced to return to Mashhad after the crew detected the problem and informed passengers about the situation.

Aircraft begins shaking shortly after take-off

According to reports, a tyre came off one of the aircraft's wheels shortly after take-off, following which the aircraft began experiencing severe vibrations.

The pilot reportedly informed passengers about the technical issue as the flight continued to experience heavy shaking.

Passengers described the experience as harrowing, with the aircraft vibrating violently during the flight.

Overhead compartments open, belongings fall

The intense vibration reportedly affected parts of the cabin interior and caused several overhead compartments to open.

As a result, passengers' belongings fell from the compartments, with some passengers reportedly being struck by the falling items as chaos gripped the cabin.

Despite the frightening experience, no passenger was injured.

Aviation authorities to examine incident

The aircraft eventually returned safely to Mashhad Airport.

Aviation officials are expected to examine the cause of the technical problem.

The incident reportedly marks the second emergency involving a Sepehran Airlines aircraft operating out of Mashhad Airport.
