Baghdad, May 30 (IBNS): Two blasts rocked Iraq's city Baghdad on Tuesday, killing at least 60 people, media reports said.

Casualties from two suicide bombings that hit central Baghdad early Tuesday have stood at 62, IraqiNews.com reported quoting a local official.

Meanwhile, militant group Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the blasts.

"The Islamic State (IS) claimed killing and wounding nearly 123 Shi’ites in suicide bombings in Baghdad’s Karrada and Shawaka districts," SITE Intel Group website said.

The attack occurred just  few days into the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
