‘Stop, stop, stop…’: Controller warned vehicle seconds before Air Canada crash at LaGuardia
New York/IBNS: “Stop, stop, stop…” — an air traffic controller’s urgent warning to a ground vehicle driver moments before a fatal collision at LaGuardia Airport has surfaced in a viral audio clip, media reports said.
The crash involving an Air Canada Express aircraft killed the pilot and co-pilot.
In the audio, an official is heard saying, “Truck 1 and company, LaGuardia Tower are requesting to cross Runway 4 at Delta,” to which the driver responds, “Truck 1 and company crossing 4.”
Shortly after, the controller warns another aircraft, “Frontier 4195, just stop there, please,” before urgently repeating, “Stop, stop, stop, stop, Truck 1, stop, stop, stop,” seconds before the collision.

The controller then instructed Delta 2603 to “go around” and told another pilot, “Jet 646, I see you collided with a vehicle. Hold position; I know you can’t move. The vehicle is responding to you now.”
The flight, which was travelling from Montreal, struck the ground vehicle upon arrival, according to FlightRadar24.
Unverified videos circulating on social media suggest the aircraft’s nose section was damaged in the crash. Several people were reported critically injured.
