MH370: Raw satellite data released

Kuala Lumpur, May 27 (IBNS) The Malaysian government on Tuesday released the raw data used that was used to trace the flight pattern of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 which went missing in March.

 The country's  Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) released 45 pages of Inmarsat's raw satellite data.

"On the 19 th of May, the Acting Minister of Transport has instructed the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to discuss with Inmarsat on the release of the Inmarsat ‘raw data’ for public consumption," the Department said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Inmarsat and the DCA have been working for the release of the data communication logs and the technical description of the analysis. As a result, the data communication logs from Inmarsat as well as the relevant explanation to enable the reader to understand the data provided is being released," read the statement.

Malaysian Airlines, the flag carrier airline of Malaysia, on Mar 25 confirmed that its flight MH370 has lost for ever in the Southern Indian Ocean and there were no survivors.

The flight, which was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew and went missing since Mar 8.

Despite multi-national search, no trace of the flight or the reason behind its disappearance has been found so far.
