Yuvraj Singh suffering from viral fever, making steady progress, confirms BCCI

Mumbai, May 27 (IBNS): Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is suffering from viral fever, the BCCI confirmed on Saturday.

The board, however, confirmed that he is making steady progress.

"The BCCI Medical Team confirms that Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who is presently down with viral fever is making steady progress," read the statement issued by the BCCI.

There are no major health concerns and he is recuperating well, to the satisfaction of the medical team, the statement said.

Singh has been advised rest and will miss India’s first warm-up match for the Champions Trophy against New Zealand at The Oval on May 28, 2017.

"The medical team will continue to monitor Yuvraj Singh’s progress and hope for a speedy recovery," the BCCI said.

India is currently in the UK to play the Champions Trophy.
