World plays guessing game over Lionel Messi's wedding guest list

Buenos Aires, Jun 10 (IBNS): Football fans and the global media are busy finding out who is being invited and who is being left out by Lionel Messi, the poster-boy of Argentinian football and the star forward of Spain's FC Barecelona, for his wedding at the end of June.

On June 30, Messi is set to marry Antonella Roccuzzo in his hometown Rosario.

Antonella Roccuzzo, also from Rosario, have known each other since childhood.

They began dating in 2008 and have since had two sons, Thiago and Mateo.

According to media reports, Messi has invited the entire Barcelona team to the wedding but reportedly did not invite board members of the club.

Former team-mate and friend Xavi, with whom Messi played for over a decade at Barcelona, is among the invitees.

However, former manager Luis Enrique and former assistant manager Juan Carlos Unzue are not on the invited list, according to media reports.

According to Goal.com, Gerard Pique may not attend the wedding due to an ongoing feud between his partner, the Colombian pop star Shakira, and Messi’s wife-to-be.

The Argentine national team player has requested guests to make a donation to his  Foundation instead of material gifts to the couple, media reports said. The Leo Messi Foundation works for the health and education of children, among other things.

While the world goes dizzy trying to guess the guest list, the wedding venue and time have also been kept a secret to avoid crowding at the venue.
