Women's World Cup: Mitali Raj hits century, India post 265/7 against New Zealand
The Indian skipper scored a brilliant 109 runs with her willow.
Losing the toss, India came out to bat against New Zealand and scored 265/7 in 50 overs.
Though India lost wickets upfront, it was the partnership between the skipper and Harmanpreet Kaur which pushed the team to a comfort zone.
Though Kaur was dismissed at 60, Raj went on to score a hundred. She was aptly supported by Veda Krishnamurthy, who scored a quick 70 in the later part of the innings.
Leigh Kasperek of New Zealand finished with the best bowling figure of 3/45 in 10 overs.
Hannah Rowe bagged two Indian wickets, conceding just 30 runs.
India need to win this match to reserve a place in the semi final.
