Mumbai, Sep 9 (IBNS): Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, remembered his maiden century against Australia on Saturday, which he scored on the same day 13 years ago.

Tendulkar has the record of 100 international hundreds, 49 out of them came in limited overs cricket, more precisely ODI.

The former Indian captain, who was a part of the world winning team in 2011, scored his maiden hundred against Australia.

International Cricket Council (ICC) remembered Tendulkar's first hundred, putting out a tweet that reads: "#OnThisDay in 1994, @sachin_rt scored the first of his 49 ODI centuries - amazingly in his 78th match! He made 110 v Australia in Colombo."

The former cricketer, who later registered several records under his name, thanked ICC, saying: "Time flies but memories last forever! Thank you @ICC and @Sachinist for this sweet gesture"

Tendulkar has retired from all forms of international cricket in November 2013.
