IPL play-offs: Mumbai Indians wins toss, elects to field

Mumbai, May 16 (IBNS): Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first against the Rising Pune Supergiants in the first qualifier of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League on Tuesday.

The host team Mumbai made four changes to their side from the team they played in the last game in Kolkata, and brought back Mitchell McClenaghan, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah and Parthiv Patel in the team.

Ben Stokes, who played phenomenally well in the IPL 10, is not available in the side for the RPS in the play-offs due to his national commitments, and Lockie Fergussion will be playing in his place on Tuesday.

Mumbai Indians topped the league table with 20 points while RPS was at the second place winning nine out of 14 matches.

The winner of the first qualifier will reach directly to the final of the tournament while the loser would face the winner of the eliminator match that would take place on Wednesday.

Two teams are given below:

MI XI: A Rayudu, L Simmons, P Patel, K Pollard, RG Sharma, K Pandya, K Sharma, H Pandya, J Bumrah, L Malinga, M McClenaghan

RPS XI: A Rahane, R Tripathi, S Smith, MS Dhoni, M Tiwary, D Christian, W Sundar, L Ferguson, A Zampa, S Thakur, J Unadkat
