India stay at number one position in test rankings, South Africa gains eight points

Dubai, May 18 (IBNS): India stayed at number one position in test rankings while South Africa gained eight points to remain at number two, as the recent update was provided by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday.

The update has been made by the ICC considering test seasons from 2015-2016.

While South Africa gained eight points after the recent update, Australia lost same to reduce to 100 points.

According to the latest ranking, India topped with 123 points, South Africa is at number two with 117 points and Australia placed third with 100 points.

Srilankan team is at the seventh position, just nine points behind third positioned Australia.

Indian team who have gained one point from the previous ranking, had a dream season last year with series win against Srilanka, West Indies, New Zealand, England, Australia and an one-off against Bangladesh back to back.

Bangladesh and Zimbabwe with 69 and 0 points respectively are at the bottom of the list.
