India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets to clinch series 3-0

Kandy, Aug 27 (IBNS): Riding on opener Rohit Sharma's unbeaten 122 runs knock, India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in the third ODI match here on Sunday to take 3-0 lead in the series.

India also clinched the ODI series with the victory.

After restricting Sri Lanka to 217 runs for the loss of nine wickets, India reached 218 runs for the loss of four wickets with 29 balls to spare.

Sharma hammered 16 boundaries and two sixes in his knock and played an anchor role in helping India cruise to victory.

Indian player MS Dhoni scored 67 runs and remained not out till the end.

He hit four boundaries and a six in his knock.

Both joined in a strong partnership after India suffered initial blows to be reduced to 61 for the loss of four wickets at one point in the match.

Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya picked up two wickets for the Island nation.
