Dagadu Bhamre to participate in Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon
Last year he came down to Mumbai and witnessed the marathon for the first time, developing an interest in participating in Asia's biggest marathon.
Before retiring from the workforce, Dagdu was an agent who managed all judicial and financial tasks for his company.
He loves speaking to new people and sharing his experiences with them, winning hearts everywhere he travels. He walks approximately 4.3 kms a day, and runs 4-5 kms twice a week, from his home to the temple in Malegaon.

Dagdu is inspired by the number of people who come to the marathons and run, and would like more people, both young and old to take running seriously, due to the various health benefits associated with it. After the marathon this year, Dagdu plans on visiting his son in Ulhasnagar.
Dagadu is a vegetarian and includes a mix of different protein and calcium sources in his meals such as milk, fruits etc with low quantities of salt and sugar. Even at the age of 103, he is fit and fine with a strict diet and regular exercise with no junk food.
His advice to youngsters is to adopt a vegetarian diet, exercise daily, sleep on time and go for a walk after meals.
