Champions Trophy: Joe Roots's unbeaten 133 helps England beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets
Coming out to bat, though England lost an early wicket of Jason Roy, the partnership between Alex Hales and Joe Root of 159 runs took the game completely away from the Bangla bowlers.
While Hales was dismissed at just five short of his hundred, Root continued with his good form to remain unbeaten till the end.
England captain Eoin Morgan too was handy with bat and gave the support to Root from the other end with his unbeaten 75 (61).
Bangladesh bowlers have not much to take back from the game as Mashrafe Mortaza and Shabbir Rahman could manage to pick one wicket each of the English batting.
Earlier, losing the toss, Mashrafe Mortaza's team came out to bat but very unlikely to the warm up matche against India, opening unit went off to a good start to only lose Soumya Sarkar while he was batting at 28.
Though Imrul Kayes went out without scoring big, it was the monumental partnership between Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim of 165 runs that helped Bangladesh to offer a huge target to England.
While Tamim scored 128 (142), Rahim lost his wicket to the bowler Liam Plunkett while batting at 79.
Lower down the batting line up, S Rahman's 24(15) pushed Bangladesh to cross 300 mark.
Plunkett had the best bowling figure for England with 4/59 in 10 overs.
Jake Bell and Ben Stokes shared one wicket each of Bangladesh batting line up.
