Mumbai: Celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma on Thursday shared some adorable pictures on social media on the occasion of festival Karvachauth.

Indian cricket captain Kohli tweeted a picture with his actress wife Anushka informing that he too had fasted contrary to the conventional practice giving an impetus to gender neutrality.

"The ones who fast together laugh together. Happy karvachauth" Kohli tweeted.

In an almost same picture, Anushka said on her Twitter handle, "My partner for lifetime & beyond and my fasting partner for the day. Happy karvachauth to all."

Karvachauth is a festival where married Hindu women, particularly from northern India, traditionally fast from sunrise to moonrise for the welfare of their husbands.

Both Kohli and Anushka have their origins in northern India. While the Indian skipper is from Delhi, Anushka was born in Uttar Pradesh.
