A Pakistan-based clothing brand has sparked controversy on social media after using AI-generated, digitally altered images of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt to promote its products without her consent.

The brand, identified as  Wajayesha Official,  shared a series of images featuring Alia Bhatt on its Instagram page, accompanied by the caption: “EVEN ALIA BHATT LIKE OUR PURE SHEESHA SILK COLLECTION!!” It further added, “COLOR CAN BE CUSTOMIZED!! BOOK YOUR ORDER NOW.”

The post quickly went viral, with fans pointing out that the images appeared to be morphed or AI-generated and did not represent any official collaboration with the actress.

Social media users criticised the brand, with one writing: “Alia Bhatt ko pata hai brand shoot ke bare mein?” (Does Alia Bhatt know about this brand shoot?). Another user warned, “She will sue you!”

In response, the brand replied in a humorous tone: “Please make it viral so she also gets to know.” When another user repeated the legal concern, the brand added, “No, she will not.”

The images appeared highly realistic and seemed to draw inspiration from Alia Bhatt’s previous public appearances and fashion shoots.

One of the edits is believed to reference her walk for L'Oréal Paris during a 2024 runway event in Paris, featuring a similar silver-grey aesthetic and wet-hair look.

According to reports, the visuals were likely generated using AI tools based on publicly available photographs and appearances of the actress.
